Our dining room is finally complete!
Dan and I have been hard at work. We replaced the top of our formerly ugly dining room table with a door board and a table cloth from World Market, we Ikea-hacked an Expedit bookshelf into a bar, and we covered three mid-century chairs to go with our other chair set of three chairs. And it looks a-mazing!
Okay so there isn't much to show in terms of how the table changed because I did not document the atrocity that was our table before.
We turned this Expedit bookshelf into a bar!
- We primed and repainted this sucker using Zinsser primer and Olympic Gray Flannel paint.
- Dan hung sliding doors. (He had them cut to fit and used drawer sliders to hang them.)
- And I painted gold accents using Rust-Oleum Metallic Accents in Soft Gold.
- Then we installed the hardware and stocked the bar!
My friend, Danielle (owner/designer of TUFT), found me beautiful mid-century chairs to go with the three fiberglass (and teal) mid-century chairs I bought last year.
I cleaned them up and sanded them slightly. And then I used the fabric above (also found by Danielle) to recover them, and BAM!
